GrowthRise Mastermind Recap September 22, 2026
Today we held our weekly GrowthRise Mastermind call. Below is the recap post on the topics we covered today.
📣 Ad Campaign Review & Targeting Strategy
Challenges: The agency launched ads using broad, interest-based targeting (18+, broad interests), which historically performs poorly for niche B2B products. The matched audience list was very small (~10% match rate), limiting effectiveness.
Advice:
- Switch from interest-based to matched audience targeting using the Apollo/CSV lists already purchased.
- Enable Advantage Plus to expand reach beyond the matched list to similar profiles.
- Invest in personal emails (~20–30 cents each) to raise match rate from ~10% to ~30%.
- Build a larger combined list (customers + leads) for a lookalike audience.
📊 Landing Page & Conversion Performance
Challenges: 136 page views with no opt-ins recorded; bounce rate ~90%; benchmark is at least 1 opt-in per 100 page views.
Advice:
- Monitor closely — if 300–400 page views pass with zero opt-ins, revisit landing page relevance and messaging.
- Consider a more general landing page (not furniture-specific) to broaden appeal, as suggested by the agency.
🔁 Retargeting Setup
Challenges: Retargeting for web traffic was not confirmed as active.
Advice: Have the agency set up a dedicated web traffic retargeting campaign to re-engage visitors who don't convert immediately, as purchase decisions can take weeks or months.
💵 Market Conditions
Challenges: General economic uncertainty affecting conversion rates and buyer interest.
Advice: Performance is highly product- and industry-specific; some clients are growing strongly while others struggle, so results vary.
Best Advice
Today's session centered on tightening ad targeting and diagnosing a weak conversion funnel: move from broad interest-based targeting to matched-audience lists built from Apollo/CSV data and personal emails, layer in Advantage Plus and a lookalike audience from combined customer and lead data, and confirm retargeting is actually active given how long B2B purchase decisions can take. On the landing page, watch the opt-in rate closely and be ready to broaden messaging if it stays near zero past a few hundred views — while keeping in mind that results remain highly product- and industry-specific amid uneven economic conditions.
