Today we held our weekly GrowthRise Mastermind call. Below is the recap post on the topics we covered today: matched audience ads, webinar funnels, holiday ad spend, and pricing strategies.

Topic 1: Matched Audience Ads
- Challenges: Complete unfamiliarity with matched audience advertising, uncertainty about where to start, and lack of knowledge about targeting specific groups
- Advice: Use matched audience ads on Meta, LinkedIn, and Google by uploading CSV files of target accounts and contacts. Build ABM lead lists using tools like Apollo, Clay, or ZoomInfo with 50,000-150,000 contacts minimum. LinkedIn typically matches 50% of audiences, Meta matches 25-50%. Upload both individual contacts and company names separately on LinkedIn for better targeting. Don't overlook Meta for B2B - it often delivers 3-4x more leads at half the cost compared to LinkedIn
Topic 2: Webinar Funnels
- Challenges: Developing effective webinar presentation formats for B2B services, determining optimal funnel strategies, and balancing ad spend versus cold email for webinar promotion
- Advice: Promote webinars 4 weeks in advance using multiple channels: cold email via Instantly (1,000-2,000 emails daily), retargeting ads on Meta/Google/LinkedIn, partner distribution, and existing email lists. Target 50+ live attendees with 150+ registrations. Use both cold email and ads rather than choosing one. Create valuable, relevant topics for the target audience. Follow up with recordings, takeaways, and SDR outreach to interested attendees
Topic 3: Holiday Ad Spend Strategy
- Challenges: Concerns about reduced B2B audience attention during holidays, increased competition with e-commerce ad spend, and whether to pause campaigns
- Advice: Never completely pause ads as it disrupts algorithm learning. Instead, reduce budgets by 30-40% during holidays and reallocate funds to January. Continue targeting B2B audiences as decision-makers remain engaged even during holiday periods
Topic 4: E-commerce CPQ Pricing and Targeting
- Challenges: Low pricing at $150/month making ads and outbound difficult to justify, limited list of 6,000 verified emails, previous unsuccessful LinkedIn ads due to poor targeting, and uncertainty about market expansion
- Advice: Use matched audience ads by uploading company lists to LinkedIn and filtering by job title for better targeting. Consider raising pricing to $5,000-$10,000 annually to support proper sales and marketing efforts. Focus on cold email outreach to existing verified list. Avoid competing on price - either go low-end ($10/month) with PLG focus or go mid-market ($1,000/month) with full sales support
Topic 5: Shopify App Store Optimization
- Challenges: App nearly ready for Shopify marketplace listing, need for effective optimization strategy
- Advice: Focus on both organic optimization through keyword targeting and quality reviews, plus paid advertising by bidding on relevant keywords and competitor terms. Study successful apps' review strategies and pricing models
Topic 6: Competitive Pricing Strategy
- Challenges: Low-cost overseas competitors charging significantly less while maintaining high review counts, difficulty competing on price while maintaining US-based operations
- Advice: Go upmarket rather than competing on price. Differentiate through superior service, strategic consulting, onboarding quality, and experienced team access. Price based on value delivered rather than competitor pricing
