GrowthRise Mastermind Recap May 19, 2026
Today we held our weekly GrowthRise Mastermind call. Below is the recap post on the topics we covered today.
1. Topics Covered
• ABM Campaign Attribution
Challenge: Difficulty tracking ABM campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, and Google through HubSpot, especially at the account level vs. individual contacts.
Advice: Use HockeyStack as a master attribution platform integrating HubSpot and Salesforce for full-funnel, account-level tracking.
• HubSpot vs. Salesforce
Challenge: Running both tools simultaneously creates complexity and cost.
Advice: Everything in Salesforce can be done in HubSpot; consider hiring a HubSpot implementation expert to audit and optimize the current setup.
• Cold Email Infrastructure
Challenge: Choosing the right email platform (Zoho vs. Google/Microsoft) for cold outreach without risking domain blacklisting.
Advice: Use a dedicated cold email tool like Instantly with a separate domain, completely disconnected from the business domain and CRM.
• Domain Setup for Cold Emailing
Challenge: Whether to use subdomains or separate domains for cold email protection.
Advice: Use a fully separate domain (e.g., .io or .net), not a subdomain, as subdomains don't protect the main domain from cold email risks.
• Lead Segmentation & Retargeting
Challenge: Segmenting leads by warmth level across cold email and ads.
Advice: Segment by conversion events or URL visits for ads; move leads from Instantly to HubSpot only after meaningful engagement (e.g., opened 2+ emails, clicked 1).
2. Tools Recommended
- HockeyStack – Enterprise B2B marketing attribution
- Instantly – Dedicated cold email platform
- HubSpot – Marketing automation & CRM
- HighLevel – Simpler/cheaper marketing automation (smaller businesses)
- Google Analytics + UTM parameters – Additional tracking layer
3. Best Advice
Use HockeyStack to unify HubSpot and Salesforce data for full account-level attribution, understanding all touchpoints across a buyer group over the entire sales cycle — not just the last click.
