GrowthRise Mastermind Recap Mar 31, 2026
Today we held our weekly GrowthRise Mastermind call. Below is the recap post on the topics we covered today.
1) Topics Covered
Topic: AI Tools for Marketing & Growth
- Challenges: Finding effective AI tools for ad management and analysis; avoiding account bans when automating ad platforms
- Advice: Be cautious with AI automation that pushes data to ad platforms via API; use analysis tools instead; consider GetVictor for Slack-based AI workflows and Sprites.AI for ad account analysis
Topic: Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
- Challenges: Tools not picking up recent press releases; competing with established companies for AI search visibility; uncertain ROI
- Advice: Focus on high-quality, long-form content and Reddit presence; understand that GEO benefits vary by industry and target audience AI usage
Topic: LinkedIn Ads & List Building
- Challenges: Choosing between Sales Navigator exports vs. Apollo for building target lists; determining best practices for newsletter distribution
- Advice: Apollo provides good match rates (90%+) on LinkedIn and is cost-effective; test both uploaded lists and LinkedIn's native targeting options
Topic: Meta Ads - Lookalike Audiences
- Challenges: Low-quality leads from lookalike campaigns; poor conversion rates despite proper setup
- Advice: Avoid lead forms initially as they create negative feedback loops with low-intent users; send traffic to landing pages instead; need sufficient conversion data before lookalike audiences perform well
Topic: LinkedIn Pixel Implementation
- Challenges: Retargeting audiences not building despite significant traffic
- Advice: Check for conflicts between Google Tag Manager and WordPress plugins; ensure pixel is properly configured in GTM with actual ID rather than placeholder text
2) Tools Recommended
- GetVictor - AI assistant integrated with Slack/Teams for automation, reporting, and analysis
- Sprites.AI - AI consultant tool that connects to ad accounts (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) for performance analysis
- Phrase.IO - SEO/GEO tool for ranking and visibility optimization
- Apollo - Contact list building and data enrichment
- Cometly - Third-party tracking and conversion API setup
- Fireflies - Meeting note-taking and transcription
3) Best Advice
The strongest advice centered on Meta ads quality issues: avoid creating negative feedback loops by sending lookalike audience traffic to lead forms. Lead forms generate low-intent conversions that signal Meta's algorithm to find similar low-quality users, perpetuating the problem. Instead, direct traffic to landing pages to ensure users are genuinely engaged, or significantly enhance the lead form experience with more qualifying questions and branded elements. This breaks the cycle and allows the algorithm to learn from higher-quality conversion data.
