1. Topics Covered

Topic: LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads

Challenge: Unable to access "LinkedIn Members" option to sponsor a colleague's post; option was grayed out.
Advice: The campaign objective must be set to Brand Awareness or Engagement (not Website Visitors) to unlock Thought Leader ad functionality. For small, hyper-targeted audiences, Engagement is recommended to drive more interaction.

Topic: Thought Leader Ad Strategy & Benchmarks

Challenge: Limited tracking when no outbound link is included; unclear ROI.
Advice: Keeping content in-platform lowers CPMs significantly. Use thought leader ads for brand awareness, retarget engaged users with conversion-focused ads. Self-reported attribution ("where did you hear about us?") can show 15–20% LinkedIn attribution.

Topic: AI in Marketing & Content

Challenge: Ensuring content quality; avoiding AI "garbage" output; gaining LLM visibility.
Advice: Use AI as a thought starter, always apply human review. Train AI on authentic, existing content for consistent voice. Focus on technical SEO + AEO and third-party credible citations for LLM visibility.

2. Tools Recommended

  • ChatGPT – Good for images and infographics
  • Imagen 3 (Nano Banana 2) – Strong image/infographic generation
  • Perplexity Computer Max – Best for complex, large-scale projects; ~$200/month; minimal prompting needed

3. Best Advice

Setting the correct LinkedIn campaign objective (Brand Awareness or Engagement) is essential to unlock Thought Leader ad features. Pairing this with a retargeting strategy — first building awareness in-platform, then converting engaged users — maximizes both cost efficiency and measurable results.
